Our contract is a binding agreement between our Collective Bargaining Unit and the university. Its components, called planks, are researched, written, and bargained for by graduate workers, and the ratified contract provides a threshold for our interactions with the university. As we continue to develop an anti-oppressive praxis and fight to make Michigan State University a sanctuary for all who live and work here, we build on these planks and continue to organize for expanded protections and benefits for graduate workers and our communities.
Our current contract, was bargained in spring 2024 and ratified by GEU membership in May of 2024. It took effect in August of 2024 and will last until May of 2028.
